Matthew 10:40–42 reminds us that hospitality is itself an act of discipleship. It’s a way of receiving Christ by receiving one another. Jesus teaches that every gesture of welcome, even something as small as offering a cup of cold water, becomes holy when it is offered in love. In this vision, discipleship is not measured by grand achievements but by the quiet, consistent ways we honor the presence of God in our neighbors. Hospitality becomes a doorway into grace: when we welcome others, we participate in God’s own generous heart, and we discover that the simplest acts of care can be transformative.
