Matthew 10:24–39 is one of those passages that challenges us to dig deep into what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. Jesus speaks plainly: following him will sometimes bring division rather than harmony, courage rather than comfort, a cross rather than celebration. Yet beneath the sharpness is a deep reassurance that our lives are held by God who sees even the sparrow fall and counts every hair on our heads. In a world that many times turns away, Jesus invites us into a loyalty that reshapes everything: a love so deep as to surround us in protection and peace. Jesus reminds us that losing what cannot last is the path to gaining what can never be taken away.
