The road to Emmaus is one of scripture’s most tender reminders that the risen Christ walks beside us long before we recognize His presence. Two weary disciples make their way home, carrying disappointment and unanswered questions, when Jesus joins them, not with quick fixes, but with companionship. He listens. He teaches. He loves. Their hearts begin to burn with renewed life even before their eyes are opened. And when they finally recognize Him in the breaking of the bread, the ordinary becomes holy. This story invites us to trust that Christ meets us on our own winding roads, through conversation, shared meals, and quiet grace. Wherever we find ourselves this week, may we discover that He has been walking with us all along.
