The Gospel of John chapter 9 traces the journey of a man born blind who receives both physical sight and spiritual insight through Jesus, while those around him question what God is doing. Jesus heals the man with mud and sends him to wash in the Pool of Siloam, and he returns able to see, a sign meant to display God’s works. As neighbors, parents, and Pharisees question him, the healed man grows in clarity and courage, moving from calling Jesus “the man” to “a prophet” to finally worshiping Him.
