Matthew 17:1–9 gives us a glimpse of Jesus’ glory that is usually hidden in the foundation of his ministry. On the mountain, the disciples see him transfigured, radiant, standing in conversation with Moses and Elijah as if heaven and earth have briefly folded into one another. It’s a moment that both dazzles and unsettles them, reminding us that God’s presence is often more overwhelming than comforting.
Yet the heart of the passage comes when the vision fades and only Jesus remains, touching His terrified friends and saying, “Do not be afraid.” The Transfiguration reveals a truth we often forget: the same Jesus who shines with divine majesty also walks down the mountain with us into the valleys of daily life, steadying us with His presence and inviting us to listen to Him with renewed trust and courage.
Join with us on Sunday, February 8 as we reflect on the invitation that Jesus makes to all of us. We invite you to Come and See! Worship begins at 10 am. You can participate in worship via Facebook and YouTube as well as Zoom. Join Zoom Meeting
