The Witness and The Reaction

Luke 8:26–39 is a powerful and deeply symbolic passage that reveals Jesus’ authority over spiritual forces and His compassion for the most marginalized. At the heart of this story is transformation. The image of restoration is clear Jesus doesn’t just cast out demons; He restores identity, community, and purpose. The man who is healed in this passage becomes a witness, sent to proclaim what God has done for him, turning his pain into testimony.  We also see the challenge in the townspeople’s reaction. Rather than rejoicing in the man’s healing, they are seized with fear and ask Jesus to leave. It’s a sobering reminder that divine power can be unsettling, especially when it disrupts the status quo.

Our story this Sunday is a vivid portrait of liberation and a call to share the good news—not just in words, but in the way we live out our faith among those who feel forgotten or bound.

Join with us on Sunday, June 22 as we walk with Jesus and reflect on his teachings.  We invite you to Come and See! Worship begins at 10 am. You can participate in worship via Facebook and YouTube as well as Zoom Meeting ID 816 7017 0275
