The Kingdom of God calls for attitudes and actions that seek to build up the community. In the Gospel of Luke, the disciples are led to take positive steps that promote the welfare of all of those that are in conflict. Jesus indicated that he is fully aware that his followers will face persecution.  “DO GOOD to those who hate you,” Jesus says. “BLESS those who curse you. PRAY for those who use you”, in other words, “If you want to live in a world that has the qualities of the Kingdom of God, then treat other people in God-like ways all the time, no matter what.
