The Blessed

Luke’s Sermon on the Plain begins with signs of the kingdom—healings and the casting out of demons. It is highlighted by the observation that “power was coming from him.” Just as Moses was radiant when he descended from the mountain, Jesus exudes the same incredible power.

We are familiar with the teachings of Jesus. They still have the power to turn our world upside down if we dare to listen to them and live by them. How would our lives change today if we truly believed Jesus when he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you who are hungry. Blessed are you who weep. Blessed are you when people hate you.”

So many people feel that their lives do not mean anything and that there is no future for them.  Jesus tells us in this week’s Gospel message that we are blessed when we live in gratitude and share from our lives with others.  We are all in need in one form or another and we are all children of God.

Let us care for each other the way Jesus did by lifting one another up to receive the blessing.

Our worship service begins at 10am on Sunday. All are welcome either in-person or on-line on Facebook and YouTube.   The bulletin can be found on this website in the virtual bulletin tab. We look forward to seeing you as we travel with Jesus!
