Be Still and Receive …True Peace

The season of Advent indeed calls us to actively look and anticipate the fulfillment of God’s promises. It’s a time of hopeful waiting; it is a time of beholding that involves our full attention and engagement. During Advent, we look forward to the day when “all flesh shall see the salvation of God” (Luke 3:6). We anticipate the revelation of God’s glory, as stated in Isaiah 40:5, and we live in the peace of knowing that God’s promises will bring transformation and renewal. We experience this peace when we reflect on the imagery of valleys being lifted and mountains being made low, symbolizing the end of struggle and suffering. Advent invites us to live in faith and hope, trusting in God so we know with every fiber of our being, the gift of God’s peace.  It is a season of looking with expectant hearts for the fulfillment of God’s enduring promises, the promises that bring us peace.
