This passage beautifully blends instruction, encouragement, and assurance. It’s not just about how to pray, it’s about trusting the One to whom we pray.
In the rhythm of Spirit-led discipleship described in Luke 11 the labyrinth is an example of a living metaphor, a quiet space to embody prayer, surrender, and faithful persistence. Just as Jesus teaches us to ask, seek, and knock, walking a labyrinth invites a sacred dialogue with each step mirroring a prayer, a surrender to God’s presence. The winding path reflects the inward journey of dying to self and living for Christ. The labyrinth’s center, much like the promise of the Holy Spirit in Luke 11:13, symbolizes the gift of divine encounter, a space where obedience and mercy converge.
St. Bartholomew’s has a labyrinth on its campus. All are welcome to walk the labyrinth, pray, and reflect.
