The wilderness is not usually a place we choose. It is barren, quiet, and exposes every hunger physical, emotional, spiritual. Yet Matthew tells us that Jesus is led by the Spirit into that very place. The wilderness is not a sign of God\u2019s absence but often the setting where God\u2019s work in us becomes clearest.
\nAfter forty days of fasting, Jesus is met by the tempter, who whispers three distortions of identity and purpose. \u201cTurn these stones to bread.\u201d \u201cThrow yourself down.\u201d \u201cBow to me.\u201d Each temptation is a shortcut, an invitation to grasp at power, security, or satisfaction on our own terms. But Jesus refuses to build His life on anything less than the Word and will of God. He answers not with cleverness or force but with Scripture spoken from a heart anchored in trust.\\<\/p>\n
